Milk Shakes are the special and favourite drink which is made by the combination with Chilled Milk. We all have tasted different types Milk Shakes because we all like this very much. I also like milk shake very much so I am spending time to get new and variety taste. Today, I am going to share a variety milk shake which is called as Rice Flakes Milk Shake. Its method of preparation is different from other milk shakes. Usually we are blending all ingredients together but here we are not blending Rice Flakes so its taste will be different. I have tasted it so many time and I like this very much so I tried to make at home. This is my first attempt but it became successful and I got the exact taste of Rice Flakes Milk which I have tasted earlier.
Aval milk or Rice Flakes Milk is one famous and tasty milk shake which is mainly used by Malabar area of Kerala. We will get it from street shops of Malabar and so many people are coming for this tasty milk shake. It became very famous due to its variety and attractive taste. This is the special milk shake for Muslims especially at the time of their festivals and celebrations. It can be considered as traditional Muslim milk shake. Here, we can see how to make homemade aval milk very easily at home. I think very less people know about its preparation so this recipe will help everyone to make this very easily. Once you taste it you will get the tendency to make it always. It has very good mixed flavour because it contains peanuts, Rice Flakes, cornflakes, Horlicks and banana. It can be used as the energy booster milk shake. It has completely variety taste and everyone will like this very much. It is entirely different milk shake from other shake because it contains crispy roasted Rice Flakes. It is very cool, sweet and very thick milk shake. This will be very special Milk Shake to serve unexpected guests comes home. I am very much happy to share this recipe to everybody and this will be very useful to everyone. Preparation Time - 5 minutes
Cooking Time - 5 minutes
Decoration - Corn flakes and peanuts


Chilled Milk - 1/2 litter
Rice Flakes (Aval) - 1/2 cup
Banana / poovanpazham - 2
Peanuts - 2 tab spoon
Cornflakes - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - 4 tab spoon
Horlicks - 1 tab spoon
Ice cubes - 3

  • In a pan, roast aval well and keep it aside.
  • Roast peanuts and remove the peel of this and crush it and keep it aside.
  • Remove the peel of banana and cut it as small pieces and put it in a blender.
  • To this add chilled milk, ice cubes, Horlicks and cornflakes and blend it well.
  • In a serving glass, put 1/2 portion of roasted aval and add crushed peanuts.
  • Then pour blended milk mix and decorate with cornflakes and peanuts and serve it.  
  • It would be better if you use Roasted Rice Flakes to make this. 
  • To get healthy Rice Flakes Milk use Honey to get sweet instead of using Sugar.
