Ingredients

Breadfruit - 1
Onion - 2
Green Chilli - 2
Cardamom - 1
Cloves - 2
Chopped Ginger - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Garlic - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Dried Red Chilli - 10
Coriander Seeds - 1 tab spoon
Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Grated Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Coconut Oil - 1 tab spoon
Mustard Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Shallots - 1 teaspoon
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs
Salt - To Taste
Water - Required for cooking

Method

  • Remove the green colour peel of Breadfruit and cut it as big square pieces and wash it well for 3 times and keep it aside.
  • Peel the skin of Onion and wash well and chop it.
  • Wash Green Chilli well and chop it.
  • In a pan, add Coriander Seeds and roast it well.
  • Add dried Red Chillies, Cumin Seeds and Black Pepper and roast well.
  • Add these roasted Coriander Seeds, dried Red Chillies, Cumin Seeds and Black Pepper and add Grated Coconut, Turmeric Powder, chopped Green Chilli, Cardamom, Cloves, chopped Ginger, chopped Garlic and Curry Leaves.
  • Add some Salt and Water into this and make thick and fine paste.
  • Add Breadfruit pieces in a pressure cooker and add Salt to taste and enough Water for cooking and cover it and cook well.
  • Heat a pan and heat Coconut Oil and splutter Mustard Seeds.
  • Add chopped Shallots and curry leaves and fry it.
  • Add chopped Onion into this and saute well until Brown colour.
  • Add cooked Breadfruit into this and mix well.
  • Boil it well for 3 minutes under high flame.
  • Keep flame low and cover it and make it thick as desired.
  • Turn off the fire and mix well and serve it in a serving bowl with Chapati, Bread and Appam.
Tips
  • You can add 1 Tomato to get good taste.
  • Its taste will increase if use roasted grated Coconut.
  • Don't overcook Breadfruit otherwise taste will change.
  • Use any vegetable oil instead Coconut Oil.
  • You can use Red Chilli Powder instead dried red chilli.
  • Use Coriander Powder instead Coriander Seeds.
  • Use Garam Masala Powder or Fennel Seeds powder instead Cumin Seeds.
