Ingredients

Breadfruit - 1
Potato - 2
Garlic Cloves - 3
Green Chilli - 4
Onion - 2
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Dried Red Chilli - 3
Red Chilli Powder - 1 teaspoon
Coriander Powder - 2 teaspoon
Cumin Seeds Powder - 1 teaspoon
Garam Masala Powder - 1 teaspoon
Corn Flour - 2 teaspoon
Coconut Milk - 1/2 Cup
Coconut Oil - 4 tab spoon
Mustard Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Shallots - 1 teaspoon
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs
Salt - To Taste
Water - Required for cooking

Method

  • Peel the skin of Breadfruit and cut it as thin and square shaped pieces and wash it well for 2 times.
  • Peel the skin of Potato and wash well and cut it as small cubes.
  • Remove the peels of Garlic and Onion and wash well and chop it.
  • Wash Green Chilli well and chop it.
  • Crush dried Red Chillies and keep it aside.
  • Put Corn Flour in a small bowl and pour a little Coconut Milk and make Corn Flour solution.
  • Heat a pan and heat Coconut Oil in it.
  • Add Potato pieces into this heated Oil and fry it well and remove it from oil and keep it aside.
  • Add chopped Garlic into this and fry it and remove it from oil and keep it aside.
  • Add Mustard Seeds, chopped Shallots and Curry Leaves into this Oil and fry well.
  • Add chopped Onion and enough Salt into this and saute well until light Brown colour.
  • Add Turmeric Powder and crushed dried Red Chillies and saute well.
  • Then add Red Chilli Powder and Coriander Powder and saute well.
  • Add Breadfruit pieces into this and saute well for 5 minutes.
  • Pour enough Water for cooking and mix well and cover it and cook it half.
  • Add Corn Flour solution into this and mix well and cook it well and make thick as desired.
  • Add fried Potato pieces and fried Garlic and mix well.
  • Pour Coconut Milk and make it boil and thick.
  • To this add Cumin Seeds Powder and Garam Masala Powder and mix well.
  • Turn off the fire and serve it in a serving bowl with Rice, Chapati and Bread.
Tips
  • Choose good and well ripe Breadfruit to get the real taste of this dish.
  • No need to mash Breadfruit after cooking it.
  • Use any Vegetable Oil instead Coconut Oil.
  • To increase the taste of this dish use Tomato.
  • To get crispness of fried Potato use some Lime Juice.
  • Adjust the quantity of spices as per taste.
