Pineapple Raita is very good and tasty Raita. It has the mixed taste of sour, sweet and spicy. Earlier Raita was using only north Indians but now a days south Indians are using this. Keralites are making Raita in houses it became a homemade item. It is mainly served as the side dish with biriyani. It will have a special taste with biriyani. If we need we can have it with chapati, naan and rice. It is using the side dish with starter items for wedding celebrations. I like this Raita very much. It is very thick and it has a creamy texture. Its main flavours are pineapple and cumin seeds mixed flavour. Most of the people like the dishes which are made by pineapple and also like its smell. Pineapple provides a lot of health benefits so we can use it with foods. We can make it very easily in few minutes with limited ingredients. We need to have it immediately after preparation. Its taste and freshness will increase if we cool it from fridge. We can serve this to children for lunch and dinner because it is a special dish for children. We can add more coriander leaves if we like its flavour. It is very good to have and also it is looking very attractive. We can make this creamy Raita at home without any effort.

Chopped Pineapple - 1/2 cup
Yogurt - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Green Chilli - 1
Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Coriander Leaves Chopped - 1 teaspoon
Salt - To taste

  • Remove the peel of Pineapple and cut it as small pieces and keep it aside in a bowl.
  • Roast cumin seeds and put it in a grinder and make it powder and keep it aside.
  • Wash Green Chilli and Coriander Leaves well and chop it.
  • In a bowl, add yogurt, sugar, cumin seeds powder, chopped coriander leaves, chopped green chilli and salt and mix well by using a spoon.
  • Then add chopped pineapple to this and mix well.
  • Transfer it in a serving bowl and serve it.
  • To make good Raita use very thick yogurt without otherwise water content will increase and won't get the real taste of pineapple Raita.
  • We need to have it immediately after preparation otherwise freshness will lost.
  • To get more sweet add more quantity sugar as per you choice.
  • We can use it with chapati, naan and rice.
