Raw Banana - 2
Red Lentils - 1 Cup
Shallots - 10
Onion - 1
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Dried Red Chilli - 10
Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon
Fennel Seeds Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Grated Coconut - 1 Cup
Coconut Oil - 1 tab spoon
Mustard Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Chopped Shallots - 1 teaspoon
Curry Leaves - 2 Sprigs
Salt - To taste
Water - As required for cooking

  • Peel Raw Banana and wash it well and slice it thin and 1 inch length.
  • Wash Red Lentils and keep it aside.
  • Peel both Shallots and Onion and wash well and slice it thin and lengthy.
  • Heat a pan and add Grated Coconut and saute it well until Brown colour.
  • To this add dried Red chillies and fry it well.
  • Add Turmeric Powder, Coriander Powder and Fennel Seeds Powder and roast it well.
  • Turn off the fire and leave it for sometimes to cool well.
  • Put it in a grinder and add a little Water and make it thick paste.
  • In a pressure cooker add sliced Raw Banana, Red Lentils, Sliced Onion and Shallots and Salt and pour enough Water and cook it well.
  • To this add masala paste and cook it well and make it thick as desired.
  • Heat Coconut Oil in a small pan and splutter Mustard Seeds.
  • Add chopped Shallots and Curry Leaves and fry well.
  • Add this into cooked curry and mix well and serve it in a serving bowl and serve it with Rice.
  • You can use Red Chilli Powder instead Dried Red Chilli.
  • Use Cumin Seeds Powder instead Fennel Seeds Powder.
  • You can use Coconut Milk instead Grated Coconut.
  • Use roasted Coriander instead Coriander Powder.

Green Chilli - 1

Water - As required for cooking


Sock Red Cowpeas in Water overnight and wash it well next day.Peel the skin of Onion and wash well and chop it.Wash Green Chilli and slice it thin and lengthy.Take a pan and put Red Cowpeas, chopped Onion, sliced Green Chilli, some Curry Leaves, Salt and enough Water to cooking and cover it and cook well.Heat a small pan and heat Coconut Oil and splutter Mustard seeds in it.Then add chopped Shallots and Curry Leaves and fry well.Turn down the fire and add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder and Black Pepper Powder and saute well until remove raw smell.Add cooked Red Cowpeas into this and mix well.…
